Wake to Yarra River Views, Flinders St CBD

Amazing location, but there are issues. Positive: The location is incredible. Opposite Sea Life and a tram stop. Views of the Yarra and the casino. Stunning. Access to the CBD and lots of food places nearby. Negative: I usually write everything to be positive. I have to be honest, there were some issues. There is no reception, so all messages, issues etc. are happening through the booking.com message function, which is sometimes not quick. Checking in, originally scheduled for 3pm. Then we get a message the day of check-in to say it will have to be at 4:30pm. Not a great start. We arrive at 4:30pm, the cleaner is in the apartment and hasn’t started cleaning yet. We eventually get in at 5:15pm. Access up to the floor was hard. It’s on level 16. The lifts on the left have two up buttons. You have the press the lower up button to access the left lifts as they go to level 16. The other lifts only go to 14. This took several hours to work out when we arrived. Again not great. The room wasn’t clean when we did get in. There was food behind the couch on the floor and under the couch cushions it was very dirty and dusty. We had my daughter sleeping on the couch as a bed. One of the couches has burn marks in it. We had sheets over it when my daughter slept there. There was two metal bits of something on the floor. The cleaner seemed really nice and he was rushed, as we presume the last lot had left very late in the day. They had rubbish all through the kitchen and hadn't cleaned up. The cleaner had it nice and mostly clean for when we eventually got in. Had to pick up and drop off the keys to a nearby convenience store, which is fine. They don't know anything about the property though and cannot help with anything. They just handle keys. We asked for a late check out for the Sunday, which they then replied saying we could, with payment. We said we wouldn't be paying more, as we were already paying nearly 900 a night for something that realistically isn't worth more than 500 a night at best.
