Unsafe, misrepresented and poorly managed - do not book Negative: Unsafe, Misrepresented, and Poorly Managed – Do Not Booke We booked this property through Booking.com for a special family occasion (6–9 November 2025) and paid $1,784 for three nights. It was advertised as a “Luxe VIP House”, but what we experienced was the opposite: Serious Safety Hazard: The front door handle was broken on both sides, leaving direct street access unsecured. This is not only a security risk but also a fire hazard. Previous reviews show this was a known issue for months, yet nothing was done. Unhygienic Conditions: The property was dirty and mould was present throughout. This is unacceptable for any accommodation, let alone one marketed as luxury. Non-functional Amenities: Electric blinds could not be operated because both remotes were damaged, forcing us to sleep with bright streetlights glaring in. Washing machine door did not close properly, flooding the laundry floor which was already covered in mould which was unsurprising. Poor Communication: The host failed to call prior to their arrival to assist which was completely contrary to what we had discussed. When I called back within minutes, there was no response. Later that day (hours), they advised repairs could only occur the following day which completely impractical for a short stay where we had multiple commitments already booked. Due to the unreliable and contradictory nature of their communication, I was uncomfortable allowing repairs in our absence. We had three young children with us, and the property accepted this booking knowing these hazards existed. The host offered $175 compensation, which is insulting given the circumstances. We should not have to sacrifice our holiday time to fix problems that should never have existed. This property is unsafe, misrepresented, and poorly managed. Consumers: Avoid this property. Booking.com: Please review your listing standards and take responsibility for ensuring properties meet basic safety and quality requirements.
